Struggling to turn over and move easily in bed? Say hello to the life changing simplicity of satin slide sheets. Pro4S 2 Way Satin Slide Fitted Base Sheet is a fitted sheet with elasticated corners like a standard fitted bed sheet and allows unrestricted movement from side to side across the mattress. With a low friction central sliding satin panel and full width satin across the lower leg area, users can easily slide their feet to and from the edge of the bed. A striped edge on either side of the central satin panel serves as a ‘braking area’ and prevent the user from slipping off the edge of the bed. Simple to use and fit, the sheet is quick to wash and dry too.
This sheet can be used on its own but if mobility is more compromised, a caregiver can use a draw sheet on top of the base sheet to assist a user with their movement.

FAQs
What is a Satin Slide Base Sheet used for?
Simply put on your mattress in place of your normal sheet to allow easier independent turning and moving in bed. This sheet safely enables unrestricted side to side movement, is kind on skin, and minimises friction and shearing.
Can a satin slide base sheet be used on its own?
Yes, it can. When mobility becomes more limited however, a 4 way draw sheet can be placed on top of the base sheet. By simply pulling on the draw sheet edge, a caregiver can assist with user movement in multiple directions.
How do I put a satin slide sheet on the mattress?
This model of base sheet has elasticated corners like a standard fitted bed sheet. Each corner of the sheet is simply placed around each corner of the mattress to hold the sheet in place. There is small gap in each corner to allow any air flow mattress cables or tubes to pass through. If a draw sheet is required for assisted movement, it should be placed on top of the satin section of the base sheet, satin side down.
What is a satin slide draw sheet used for?
When a user needs some caregiver assistance to reposition themselves in bed, a draw sheet is placed on top of a satin slide base sheet. The user then lies on top of both sheets and the caregiver can then assist with their movement in multiple directions by pulling on the draw sheet edges.
Can a satin slide draw sheet be used on its own?
No, it can’t. It will only work when it is placed on top of a corresponding 2 way base sheet.
How do I put a satin slide draw sheet on the mattress?
This model of draw sheet is ¾ length and is usually placed underneath the user from the shoulders down to the knees. Simply place it on top of the satin section of a 2 way base sheet with the satin panel facing downwards and the label facing upwards. The excess polycotton material either side of the mattress is then pulled on by the caregiver using micro movements to reposition and turn the user. Once repositioning is complete, tuck the excess polycotton material under either side of the mattress to secure it in place and prevent any further unwanted movement.
What makes this product different to a standard nylon slide sheet?
Unlike standard nylon slide sheets, satin slide base sheets have a polycotton braking area either side of the sliding central panel, so the slide movement stops before the user reaches the bed edge. This ensures they can be safely used independently. They are also quiet and unobtrusive, making them ideal for dementia and end of life situations.
Can satin slide sheets be left under a user?
The breathable sheet materials are kind on skin, resulting in the effective prevention of shearing and sweating. Designed to be left in the bed, there is no need to insert and remove the sheets each time the user position needs adjusting. The need to turn the user is therefore substantially reduced, saving time and effort for both them and the caregiver.
Who can satin slide sheets help?
Satin slide sheets are versatile and beneficial to many. They are a great tool for people with varying degrees of mobility as they can help enhance what mobility they have. Satin sliding sheets are the perfect aid for caregivers who need to turn, position, or move people in bed. They are also a great option for heavier users and those who may be at risk from pressure ulcers.
